Service-Learning Projects

The first U-ROC Leadership™ class worked on a project with the Montgomery County OIC to help construct and implement a new Gun Violence Prevention Program for the Norristown area.  The class created a project plan, created a survey to get community feedback on interest to prioritize what activities would be most popular, and when to have them.  Those surveys were distributed to School Districts via e-mail, and we hand delivered flyers that the students created, to community businesses to create awareness of the program, and to get them to participate in completing the survey.

Expressive Path of Norristown, PA to help with an afterschool and Friday evening youth program focused on the arts.

Teachers Teammates of Havertown and Folcroft, PA to help organize school supplies in a warehouse that get donated to help teachers supply the needs of the students in their classes.

Today is a Good Day of Flourtown, PA supports families who are navigating the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with their newborn. We help them make bonding squares that help to comfort the baby and the parents when they cannot be together.

Habitat for Humanity of Norristown, PA provides opportunities for families to have their own home that otherwise couldn’t afford one.  Projects include helping to build a home, home repairs and working in their ReStore which provides affordable home furnishings.
