Paid Internships

Here are some examples of paid internships our first U-ROC Leadership™ class enjoyed:

Riker Opportunity Institute is a for profit talent and leadership development consulting firm and the founder and creator of U-ROC Leadership™ Ready to Work High School and Gap Year Programs.  One of our students was gifted artistically.  As my paid intern she designed, planned, and performed at the U-ROC Leadership™ Graduation Celebration event.  It was a tremendous success!

310 Marketing is a for profit full-service marketing firm.  Since one of our students interests and talents involved photography and videography, that is what he did for 310 Marketing Clients.

Montgomery County OIC X-Treme Learning Center. One of our students was interested in working with children and so her paid internship was assisting with caring for the children at the X-Treme Learning Center, which turned into a full-time position for her.

Trellis for Tomorrow is a non-profit that serves youth out of Phoenixville.  They collaborate with many partners to deliver their services and one of our students was interested in and gifted at technology.  He worked on a range of projects for four area nonprofits that included building and managing databases of information, organizing, and monitoring inventory, building online surveys, and conducting stakeholder outreach.

Because Riker Opportunity Institute and Dana Riker Jackson have been working with organizations of varying sizes and types for 25 years, we have a plethora of relationships to create paid internship opportunities, with the goal that they are in alignment with what the student is interested in and has the ability to do.

We also ask all our employer partners to pay a minimum of $16.00/hr., which helps students to save for college, trade school or live independently.
